JUNETEENTH CELEBRATIONS IN THE VILLE

Juneteenth is a vibrant celebration of freedom, heritage, and community, all to commemmorate the emancipation of enslaved African Americans on the anniversary of Major General Gordon Granger's order of 6/19/1865. Throughout the month, however, Louisville honors the holiday with festivals, live music, cultural events, educational programs, and family-friendly gatherings that recognize the history and contributions of Black Americans. From neighborhood celebrations to large-scale events, Louisville comes together to reflect, celebrate, and continue the legacy of Juneteenth.

WIN STUFF

Halfway to the weekend and somehow there are still too many things happening in this city. We’ll narrow it down again tomorrow.
