Cartoonist/Writer Becky Barnicoat’s hilarious Dry January Alternatives comic has the exact energy of someone who wants to be virtuous, but also wants snacks, sarcasm, and emotional stability. Instead of swapping wine for “wellness,” her version of self-improvement looks more like leaning into fried food, existential honesty, and whatever coping mechanism doesn’t come with a smug hashtag. It’s basically a gentle reminder that if you’re not drinking, you’re still allowed to have a personality... even if that personality is a bit off-center.
