JUNETEENTH CELEBRATIONS IN THE VILLE

Juneteenth commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans and is celebrated on the anniversary of Major General Gordon Granger’s order on June 19, 1865. Freedom Day, as some call it, is a federal holiday for many. But Juneteenth is really too big for just one day. That’s why there are multiple events over several days in the Louisville area.
