JUNETEENTH EVENTS IN LOUISVILLE

Juneteenth commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans and is celebrated on the anniversary of Major General Gordon Granger’s order on June 19th, 1865. Freedom Day, as it’s called by some, is really too big for just one day, which is why there are several events around Louisville and Southern Indiana spread out over the month of June, many of them free.
