Some dates on the calendar carry a little more weight than others. Today marks 25 years since the events of 9/11—a day that changed our country and remains deeply personal for so many. Before we get into what’s happening around Louisville, we’re taking a moment to remember the lives lost, the people who stepped up to help, and everyone whose life was changed by that day.

A DAY OF SERVICE & REMEMBERANCE

9/11 Day was launched in 2002 as an annual day of service to honor victims and heroes of that fateful day. Since then, the observance has evolved into an annual day of charitable engagement in the U.S. The American Red Cross supports 9/11 Day by offering the community an opportunity to honor those who lost their lives and first responders by donating blood and helping to ensure it’s available for those in need.
